Service Process

Every kilt is assessed individually before any work begins.

 1. Assessment

At the first appointment (or after receiving a posted kilt), I examine the cloth condition, construction and previous alterations and discuss what you would like adjusted.

2. Quote and approval

You receive a clear written quote. No work starts until you confirm you are happy to proceed.

Payment is not taken at this stage.

3. Alteration or repair

All work is carried out by the same specialist using traditional methods appropriate to the kilt’s age and structure.

4. Completion and payment

You are notified when the work is finished and can inspect the kilt on collection.

Payment is made on collection (or before return postage), never at drop-off.

5. Return or collection

Postal items are carefully packed and returned tracked.

If helpful, aftercare advice is provided to prevent future strain or damage.

Why Use a Kilt Specialist

Traditional kilts and Highland wear are constructed differently from standard garments.
Alterations done without understanding the structure can affect the tartan alignment, balance and overall hang.

Work here focuses on preserving the original character of the garment while improving fit and comfort.
Where more than one approach is possible, the options are explained so you can choose what suits you best.

Meet Your Kilt Alteration Specialist

I’m Kinga — the person you will speak to, meet at your appointment, and who carries out the work.

As a kilt maker specialising in alteration, repair and restoration, I work with the structure of the garment rather than simply adjusting the fit. Each piece is handled carefully to preserve its original balance and character.

From the first fitting to collection, all work is carried out personally to ensure consistency and attention to detail throughout.

I also regularly work with clients across the UK through a postal service, ensuring the same level of care and attention regardless of location.
